Army Chaplains wear branch insignia by faith group, are the Protestant and Catholic crosses different?

I remember one wearing a silver cross and the other wearing a gold one, but I can't find this on line and can't remember which one was which. I might be wrong... please help...

No. The crosses for both Catholic and Protestant Chaplains in the Army is the same. The Air Force Chaplains may be the ones who wear the silver cross. Navy wears a gold cross on the left collar of the uniform shirt.
