Crucifix Medal

When was the first Pardon Crucifix made ? Is there any saints associated with this medal ? Who designed this?

I don't know if this is the true answer. Coventry Cathedral, medieval building, was bombed and burnt out in WW2. Amongst the ashes were heavy iron nails and these were fashioned into crucifixes and sent to cathedrals around the World.
