Sacred Heart Jesus

Did you know that tomorrow we are to remember by worship and/or prayer, The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus?
It is a very special opportunity to surrender yourself to the truth, the life, and the way. All you have to do to get started is say Jesus I love you, I thank you, and I'm sorry for my sins. Will you please give it a try? Peace to you.
Yes, it's a very special Day for me and the Prayer Group to which I belong.'The People of the Heart of Jesus'
We venerate the Sacred Heart of Jesus which is the symbol of Jesus' eternal love for his Father, and the source of the love and life he shares with all his brothers and sisters.
Jesus knew and loved us each and all during his life, his agony and his Passion, and gave himself up for each one of us."The Son of God.....loved me and gave himself for me." (Gal 2:20). He loved us all with a human heart. For this reason, the Sacred Heart of Jesus, pierced for our sins and for our salvation,is quite rightly considered the chief sign and symbol of that love with which the divine Redeemer continually loves the Eternal Father and all human beings without exception." ( Catechism of the Catholic Church,478).
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus I place all my trust in you. Amen

Lisbon, the Heart of Portugal
The simple fact of being the capital of Portugal and consequently, the most important city of the country, is enough reason to make Lisbon a must-to-see place in all Portugal vacation packages. The unique light of this city bathed by the river Tagus has, in the past, inspired many artists who lived in the typical neighbourhoods of Lisbon, such as, Alfama, Bairro Alto, Mouraria, amongst others. Then there's Fado, the music that reflects the soul of the Portuguese people and it deserves to be listened to in the many Fado houses that exist in the city. Besides the centre of the city with its historical richness, it is worth visiting the west part of Lisbon where the World Exhibit of 1998 was held. This event was the reason why an area of abandoned docks was rehabilitated and transformed in a cultural and housing place of high architectural value. Here's a top five of the must-to-see places in Lisbon:
1.The Praca do Comercio (Trade Square) - It is a square by the river Tagus surrounded by arched vaults. To the north is the Arch of Augusta Street (the centre of local commerce) which was inspired by the french Arch of Triumph. On the centre of the square we can see the statue of King Joseph I surrounded by figures that represent the achievement in rebuilding the city after the earthquake of 1755. It's on the Praca do Comercio that the oldest cafe of Lisbon is situated and we can't dissociate the memory of the poet Fernando Pessoa from this cafe.
2. Edward VII Park - It is situated on the top of Avenida da Liberdade (Liberty Avenue) where you can find the most expensive shops and enjoy a beautiful view over Lisbon. On this park you can visit the Estufa Fria (Greenhouse), dated of 1930 and considered a natural nursery of exotic species from all over the world, for instance, from China, Korea, Africa, Australia and Brazil.
3. Monastery of Jeronimos - It's the greater example of the manuelino style, an architectonic style of Portuguese origin that combines gothic and renaissance elements. This monument with a facade of over three hundred meters, obeys to a horizontal principle which gives it a calm and relaxant aspect. In 1907 it was classified as a National Monument and in 1984 it was classified as World Heritage by UNESCO.
4. Basilica da Estrela - This church of neoclassic style is from the 18th century and has two bell towers where you can see paintings of Batoni and Pedro Alexandrino. Queen Mary I was very devoted to the cult of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and this church was built because of her religious beliefs. In 1760, after marrying to Infant Peter she took an oath to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, promising to build a church and convent for the religious women of the Regra de Santa Teresa if she had a male child.
5. Tower of Belem - The Tower of Belem was built during the Discoveries Era in honour of Saint Vincent, the patron saint of the city. It was finished in 1520 and as a symbol of the kings prestige it shows a decoration typical of the manuelino style. The Tower of Belem is a symbol of the Portuguese individuality and universality and in 1983 it was classified as World Heritage by UNESCO.
