im a rivethead/cyberpunk goth type do you think it'd be hypocritic to wear a cross?

ok lets say im into darker more nonconformist music and go for the darker occult type literature, i sometimes wear all black getup but for the most part i like bright colors and loud getup like that of the more post punk era like all gone dead. hoping to get into more of a rocker goth type look, i recently started wearing all black, leather jacket, and a metal crucifix which makes it really stand out. i think its decent but would still like to hear some opinions so tell me what you think, thnx:)
....but i like the aesthetic of it. ive never claimed to believe in anything i dont and crosses are largely accepted as jwelery in western culture. well, give me more opinions i still want to know what more of you think.

remains of the holy cross?

I have chosen my religion and that's Christianity.
And I have been studying Jesus and the Holy cross recently and a thought encountered me. I wondered weather the Holy cross still stands where the crucifix took place or if it was demolished?

What does 14KN mean on a gold cross?

I have a gold cross with a silver Jesus that is marked 14kn. Is this filled or something?

14K means there are 14/24ths gold in it and 10/24ths other metal. The N is a alloy desigator, so a jeweler who needs to make it bigger can match the alloy. It's like a dye lot code for gold. Different alloy mixes have slightly different colors.

As Judgement rose up on his strong legs, the citizens of Byzantine began to shudder, they began to tremble at the sight of such a magnificent phantasm. Now, the humble servants of Judgement had faces of gloom and guil, for they too were conspirators in the plot against Judgement to usurp his throne and power. All fell & woshiped him as a god and they dear not cross paths with him, fearing gor their lives. Despite their cowardly fear, the lowly servants woshiped Judgement, their every bloodthirsty word pleasing their masters ear, tickling it like a mother does her baby, causing the tainted ritual to reach completion. As the ritual continued for about a minute or so now, bright lights began to shine through the dark, damp floor that the worshipers sat upon. Your statements contradict each other.. They are afraid of him, yet are conspiring against him, although they acknowledge that they are human and he is a god? It just doesn't make much sense..

You might also have better luck if you picked a specific character to focus on, say an outsider onlooking the situation from a hidden point of view, or one of the denizens himself having doubts about what the conspirators have planned. Dialogue and details are two biggies in quality literature, as are character and plot development. If the characters have nothing driving them, there is no point for the story to take place. On the other hand, if there is no story taking place, there is no need to describe the characters. Each character should have some "alone time" with the audience to build personality and allow the characters to know more about them, however, this can be used the other way around and one specific character may be mysteriously secretive, with that quality being his character development. Of course later this would need to be fleshed out or explained, but these are just examples and ideas.

Basically, you need a compelling story and setting with smart characters who have natural conversations taking place over the course of the story. Stories whose dialogue are solely plot related are usually duds.. Having them talk about things that are going on in their universe makes the setting more believable and the characters more likable and three dimensional.

Also watch your spelling, there were quite a few places that I had to figure out what exactly you were trying to say because the words just didn't work. Good luck!

What is the value of a 22 carat gold half sovereign?

I want to sell some Royal Mint jewellery (unwanted gifts) to a scrap gold/ second hand jewellery merchant but I don't know what it is worth. I have the following:
A 9ct gold chain & cross bar (with 10 small diamonds) & a 22ct half sovereign pendant from 2003 - limited edition of 5000. Also a pair of 9ct gold earrings in a cross design with a small emerald in the centre & very small diamonds. Finally a sterling silver fine chain with pendant & 3 small sapphires. Can anyone help? What is the minimum I should take? I had a look on www.royalmint.com & the jewellery on there isn't cheap, but if you are selling it on second hand what sort of price can you expect to get?

You would be well advised to take them to a reputable jewellery store or two, or a reputable pawnbroker, they also buy scrap gold and will give you a fair price.

Obviously you wont get full values as they need a margin for profit. If i were you i would also consider a reputable auction house as you might get a better price there, but get a valuation first and put a reserve on at 70% of full value.

Many religions have idols.

Even though they preach against idols, Christians have either Crucifixes or Crosses. (Catholics also have stations of the cross and statues.)

Jews and Muslims have their books (Torah or Quran).

Is there something about humans engaged in worship that requires something on which to center your attention?

This is actually an important question; the answer is yes.

The mind is very fickle. It will easily wonder about. Having an object of focus allows it to, well, focus

Depending on what you're trying to achieve, you can have different objects of focus. You can pick anything really if you're just trying to train the mind to focus. This in of itself it an important way to train your mind, but you can also have 'religious' objects if you are trying to focus on particular trait you're trying to understand or realize in yourself.

So, focusing on a compassionate and loving Jesus for example allows us to become more compassionate and loving.

This is different then idol worship though. Idol worship is just superstition.
