i wear a sterling silver crucifix all day and all night but was told that keeping it on when showering could damage the metal. is this true?
or will i be okay if i don't take it off to shower?

sure it's "safe"
but after a few times its gonna get rusty & dull and possibly turn green depending on the quality. unless its real white gold or real silver, it WILL rust from water. even real gold and silver can get worn down by water and loose its shine/sparkle. i recommend you take it off when taking a shower if you want it to stay shiney and new looking. i promise you wont be damned to hell for removing the crucifix while batheing lol.

Does it seem sacreligious to put a crucifix tattoo on your lowerback or even rosary bead?

I've thought about all different types of tattoos. I've pretty much pinned where I want them to be and of course one major area is the lower back. I do love a crucified Jesus but I don't know about putting him on my back.

Not more on your lower back than on any other part. I think getting such a tattoo would be ok (and not sacrilegious or something of the sort) only if you are a Christian and the reason to get your tattoo is your devotion to Jesus or any other religious one ...

I have some questions about the rosary!?

Hi, I am thinking about making a rosary for myself. And I watched a bunch of tutorial videos. They were helpful. But...

- I don't think I will have enough money to buy that little knot-tier thing. If there any way I can make one, or is there another way I can make a big knot?

- Do you think they would sell crucifix or cross beads at a normal bead shop?

- Will beads be cheap?

- Can I make a beaded cross instead of buying one?

- How do I add the medal to my rosary?

- Where can I find a medal?

- Do I NEED a medal?

I'm not sure if they have one where you live, but in my town, we have a Christian bookstore that sells all this kind of stuff. If not,try eBay, I found some really nice crucifixes. Normally, you can't find these at normal stores. Beads range in prices depending on the type.

Plastic beads: usually anywhere from $5+
Metal beads $15+
Wooden ones run in many price ranges depending on what you get

With the medal you can normally hook it to a wire through your last bead and first bead on the circle part.

You don't really need a medal though, but you can get one if you like having it there.

Remember: Rosaries were made to keep track of the Hail Mary's so you don't have to get all fancy unless you really want to.

But OVERALL, try eBay.

EDIT: To the answer above, you DON'T wear rosaries EVER. Nuns and monks wear them respectfully and humbly, but other than that no. You pray them.

Christians...HELP ME WITH THIS!?

Hi, I am thinking about making a rosary for myself. And I watched a bunch of tutorial videos. They were helpful. But...

I went to the Vatican a couple of years ago and I wanted to get some rosary's for my family, I found some to be as low as 1 dollar out side the Vatican and 5 dollars inside the Vatican, I also bought a few that were a couple of hundred dollars in price. The one thing that I learnt was that there were thousand's of different rosary's at the Vatican...so some were made in China, some in Thailand and some even in Rome. Nothing made one more special than the other other than the price or the look of the rosary. What really matters is the faith which you put behind it, the amount of beads, colors, types, metals have no meaning unless you yourself put meaning behind them.

I would suggest that you make one that allows you to be comfortable with it, something which shows the love which you carry and the faith which you profess.
